We’ve all been there. Materials are ordered against a cost centre and then go missing. With our software, you can easily record these items and locate them in the spare parts warehouse.

When it comes to non-production materials – i.e. spare parts and maintenance supplies – it is vital to be able to locate the required items reliably at any time. With COGLAS WEB WMS, staff across all three shifts can do just that – without needing computer skills or item numbers. Storage takes place either in the lift/shuttle system or in rooms/on shelves.

“Thanks to our COGLAS CLOUD WMS software, we have been able to minimise production downtime, as our technicians no longer have to spend time searching for spare parts at various storage locations; instead, they are guided directly to the correct storage location via their smartphone,” says Dominic Engels, Logistics Project Manager at MERA Tiernahrung GmbH.

Manage your spare parts stock with ease

Whenever a new spare part is added, a photo of the product is taken directly with a mobile phone and its storage location is noted. This ranges from scanning the barcode to manual entry, for example, room 34, cupboard 2, top shelf. A Google search ensures that this spare part can be searched for by photo and is therefore easy to find at any time.

Engels: “With this software, we now achieve 100 per cent transparency in our spare parts inventory, meaning we always have all the necessary spare parts in the correct quantities in stock.”

The system supports not only ‘person-to-goods’ but also ‘goods-to-person’ warehouse systems. An automatic replenishment function triggers the next order when stock falls below the safety level. This allows any warehouse to be organised intelligently and thus made fit for the future.
